The event was attended by mass media of print and electronic were held at Heritage II room, Hotel Indonesia Kempinski. During that event, besides Bayu Satya, also attended Sunandar as a Director and Amri Hudaya as Head of Oil Spill Combat Department.

 Dr. Bayu Satya, B.Sc., received the International Award Carthage in Campidoglio Roma, Italy for his role in saving the environment from the negative impacts of oil spills in Indonesia and around the world.

Indonesian Embassy's spokeman in Rome, Nindarsari Utomo says Dr Bayu Satya, BSc is the first Indonesian citizen to receive prestigious International Award Carthage. The event was held on Thursday July 10th, 2014 and it was the 13th edition of the Premio Cartagine.

The award is intended for those who have contributed, locally and around the world, to the development and dissemination of culture and knowledge.

Dr. Kofi Annan, the seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations, and Dr. Giorgio Napolitano, the 11th President of Italy, are some of the international figures who have received the International Award Carthage.


The International Award Carthage is an award given by Accademia Premio Internazionale Alla Cultura Cartagine in Italy. This year's award is the 13th ever since the first event in 2001.  This year International Award Carthage is important for Indonesia as it is the first time an Indonesian citizen to receive such a remarkable award. To celebrate this historical moment, the Ambassador of Indonesian for Italy, Mr. August Parengkuan, his wife, his secretary Ms. Dhani Mancini and Liaison Officer Dr. Luciano Mancini attended and congratulated Dr. Bayu Satya, B.Sc., for his remarkable achievements for Indonesia.
